I’m a twenty year old college student majoring in art and design and this is the kind of assignment my professors are giving me. I hate doing these stupid projects where I don’t learn anything. They even make me take math and science classes here so I can be a more well rounded human being. Well, I guess it’s only two more years before I can start living in the real world. I have no problem waiting.

Work had me weary last Sunday to the point that I almost did not want to get out of bed. I spent most of the day time twisting and turning on my bed. The television kept me company. It�s in the afternoons that I get to enjoy local television programs much, especially, during weekends. It is when I get to watch my favorite sketch comedy show, Goin� Bulilit. The cast were really good and they were truly hilarious. I was especially impressed by how Nikki played the character of Vivian. She�s so adorable. The two boys also did well, of course. They did add fun to the entire segment.

Another drama spoof I was so pleased about was �Meet Your Garden�. A drama they copied from the hit telenovela, �Meteor Garden�. Now, they are currently spoofing another heavy drama television series, �Maria Flordeluna�, which they titled, �Flor de Luha�. They did well and I almost forgot about all the problems at work. Kids� charisma is really something. They have a wonderful way of touching the hearts of the audience.

My personal favorite is Sharlene San Pedro. She is just so brilliant. In her own segment, Rated K, Handa Na Ba Ako?� (English translation is �Rated K, Am I Ready?�), she mimics Korina Sanchez, a well-respected news anchor and host. I believe this girl has a gift of tongue and I can definitely tell she has a future in hosting. She speaks really well and she has the acting talent too. She also spoofs Korina Sanchez in another segment, GB Patrol Small World with Nash Aguas as Ted Failon, and Basty as Julius Babao. The segment made them even more controversial because of their cunning lines as if implying something about the rival television station.

Goin� Bulilit�s title was copied from an earlier sketch comedy, Goin� Bananas, starred by veteran comedy actors Christopher de Leon, Johnny Delgado and Bobot Mortiz. But it seems to me that the format of this youth oriented show is patterned from a defunct children�s comedy show, �Ang TV�, which also became a hit during the 90�s.

Lately, I’ve started becoming hooked to watching television, which was really not my thing before. Now, even when tired from work, I still spend time watching TV. And from the faces of the studio audience, I could tell I wasn’t the only one enjoying the performance. Another personal favorite is Janno Gibbs. He’s a veteran singer, actor, comedian and host. I just love his voice so much. But if you come to The Bulagaan segment is the most-awaited part, I believe because here they combined talent, wit and comedy. All the hosts and co-hosts get to do the infamous, “knock knock…who’s there” twist.One of the best assets of Eat Bulaga was the Sex Bomb Girls, an all female dance group which has recently been replaced by the EB Babes. I like the group (Sex Bomb) so much, maybe because of the exposure given to them. And, yes they are good dancers! Now, intrigues about them and EB Babes are starting to heat up especially that they are being compared to each other. In fact, they will have a showdown this coming Saturday, February 3. Can’t wait to witness that! The EB Babes’ signature dance is “Itaktak Mo” (by Joey de Leon), which according to critics is performed better by the Sex Bomb dancers.

Bubble gang had been a part of my life especially in high school when Aiko Melendez and Gelli de Belen was still a part of the show. I loved watching bubble gang because it’s a really funny gag show. Who wouldn’t laugh at their manghuhula “madam brocha” being played by Michael V? Who could ever forget Brad Pete? Their music english version and music tagalog bersyon which was hosted then by Aiko Melendez in the 90’s. Michael V is really a great comedian and nobody can top him. Do you still remember their sexballs dancers? There are a lot of wonderful and funny memories from this show. I’m glad they are still on tv right now. Though the cast may have slightly changed, the heart of the show still lingers. Admirably, Michael V carries the show on his shoulders with Ogie Alcasid on his side. One thing I noticed about this show that somehow became boring already is their commercial spoofs. I remember back in the 90’s that I always laugh with tears on my eyes everytime I see their spoofs. Is it because I’m getting older that I don’t find their spoofs hilarious anymore or had the spoofs degrade in substance already?

I have one observation about this show though, why have Ara Mina, Rufa Mae Quinto and Maureen Larrazabal on the show? We all know what the common denominator is with this three gorgeous women. What’s that you might ask? Well, figure that out. I wonder if that’s the new trend on tv these days… having sexy women with big assets to get audiences to watch them? Notice the time bubble gang is being aired? It’s about 11pm if I am not mistaken and most kids are asleep at those hours. I know bubble gang’s popularity have somehow diminished over the years, I guess that’s because GMA does not know how to take care of their great shows. Bubble gang have class in its own right and should be given respect for that. What show would get high ratings if it’s being aired an hour before midnight? How I wish bubble gang would just switch to abs-cbn but knowing Michael V’s patriotic personality, he will never let this happen. It’s too bad for bubble gang though.

Why can’t GMA give them a spot over primetime and not on wee time?

All in all, I must say that I simply love Bubble gang I guess because it brings back a lot of wonderful memories when I was still in my teenage years. There’s 2 main types of pages I’d seek.

The first type I’d find by asking, “What Page on their site is most relevant to the page on my site I’m seeking a link to“.

Here’s how I’d find that: I’d go to google and search [site:theirsite.com keyword phrase] to find the most relevant page. Relevance is a big factor. If I sell Green Widgets, and they’ve got a specific page on Green widgets, that would be a great page to get a link from.

The Second type of page I’d seek is the one with the most “power”…call it “backlinks”, call it “trust rank”, call it “quality indicators”….all of those.

Here’s how I’d find any websites most powerful inner page.

I’d go to Yahoo and search [site:theirsite.com]

The nice thing about Yahoo is that they tend to list pages in order of importance. Same goes for a “linkdomain” search in Yahoo (the best backlinks tend to be towards the top of results). This hold true for a “Site:” search with Yahoo. The best “internal pages” tend to be listed first.

These “best internal pages” tend to be the pages that have the most external backlinks to those pages.

The 2 step said it all, simple and easy way to get the best internal pages of a certain site, hope it helps.

Try to view your traffic logs, if you noticed referrals from one or more site on which you couldn’t find your link, you have been hit by a referral spam.

Referral spamming is also a bandwidth leecher, traffic coming from this method is just a waste of hosting resources.

How does one build .EDU backlinks ?

Even if you believe it or not, backlinks from .EDU get additional credibility from Google than other sites would. .EDU sites are likely to be of high quality content therefore links from them are very nice things to have. Here is how you get a list of .EDU site, try to use this site:edu inurl:forums keyword , just replace the keyword with the targeted keywords. I used forums since community sites are the easiest way to get a backlinks. But most moderators now a days specially in .EDU community is filtering/administering the registration before you become an active member. Good Luck

But don’t forget “good unique content” is still the king!

Google Reindexing, How often?

Google is constantly reindexing the web. Active portions of the web may be visited several times a day. Less active portions may be spidered once or twice a month or so.

Earlier this year they appeared to have created a filter on new links / new sites to where it takes a while for your rankings to really go up in competitive markets (especially if your site is new and does not have much linkage data pointing at it yet)…thats part of the reason for my 90 day guarantee thingie…it will take most people nearly that length of time to start seeing decent movement in Google in competitive markets.

Don’t forget to mix up your link text using various different discriptive link text combinations when you get your inbound links. Some directories will only let you use your official site name and some are a bit more lenient.

Also keep in mind some of the other things you can be doing to boost your site: writing articles, participating in communities, logical link swaps, asking for links, etc.
